Blog One: A Toast to Timeless Love – The Tsangs’ Elegant Celebration

Every detail of Hae Young and Douglas’s wedding was a reflection of their love — timeless, joyful, and intentional.

Held on April 4, 2025, at The Bower Venue, a stunning new venue in Oklahoma, their celebration was filled with elegance, heartfelt moments, and personal touches that made the day truly unforgettable. Top Shelf Cuisine & Cocktails was honored to elevate the experience with a full bar service, where our team crafted expertly mixed drinks that kept the celebration flowing all night long.

How It All Began

Hae Young and Douglas met during graduate school, where their friendship evolved into five years of love, laughter, and partnership. When it came time to propose, Douglas went all in with one of the most thoughtful gestures imaginable — a hot air balloon proposal.

“Doug planned the most thoughtful hot air balloon proposal that took us over Arcadia Lake and Edmond and popped the question after landing in Mitch Park,” said Hae Young Tsang.

This sense of intention and care that was evident in their relationship translated beautifully into their wedding day.

Flavors That Made the Night

Top Shelf helped the couple achieve their dream of a clean, elegant experience by crafting a cocktail menu that wowed guests. Their signature drinks, the club special and the espresso martini, quickly became guest favorites.

“Top Shelf was able to effectively keep the drinks flowing and keep the party going. Our guests were truly from so many different parts of our lives and traveled from all over and they were all able to reunite over drinks,” Tsang shared.

The Bower Venue — A New, Oklahoma Gem

The couple chose The Bower Venue, one of Oklahoma’s newest and most striking venues, known for its modern architecture, expansive windows, and lush natural surroundings. The newness of the venue was perfect for the bride, because she wanted to have a special experience that wasn’t somewhere she had previously attended a wedding.

Surrounded by greenery and bathed in natural light, the venue offered a serene yet sophisticated atmosphere that made every moment — from the ceremony to the last toast — feel effortlessly magical.

Advice from the Couple

When asked what advice Hae Young would give to an engaged couple, she stressed the importance of good communication.

“Ensure that good communication is delivered and that they are willing to ultimately work to bring your vision to light,” Tsang said. “Look for a caterer who is willing to be creative and work with your needs. It's always best to select someone who is vouched for and has been in the business for a while.”
